Educators and Students

Providing educators and students with a straightforward, easy-to-navigate code was a major consideration when reorganizing ACI 318-14 Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete.

Teaching with the New ACI 318-14: A how-to video for Educators

As an educator who teaches structural concrete design to undergraduate and/or graduate students, you will find the reorganized code in many ways parallels the way in which the design of a building is commonly taught. The reorganized 318-14 Code is centered on a member chapter format. When designing a member, such as a column, all relevant design and detailing requirements are noted within that member chapter. Furthermore, the information in each chapter has a parallel arrangement of design and detailing requirements, thus providing users with an explicit roadmap of relevant provisions.
