Professor Muhammed Basheer, FACI, FREng., has been recognized with a Commanders of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the King’s Birthday Honours. The list marks the extraordinary contributions and service of people across the UK. Basheer was awarded for his significant contributions to civil engineering.
A Fellow of ACI and graduate of the University of Kerala, Basheer previously served as Chair in Structural Engineering in the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds. He was recently appointed as Executive Dean for the School of Energy, Geoscience, Infrastructure and Society (EGIS) at Heriot-Watt University.
“Professor Basheer’s contributions to the advancement of concrete knowledge have earned him this prestigious honor,” said Ronald G. Burg, PE, Executive Vice President, American Concrete Institute. “On behalf of the Institute, I’d like to congratulate Muhammed for his continued dedication to ACI and the global concrete community.”
