A total of 106 universities around the world received recognition as a 2022 ACI Excellent or Outstanding University Award Winner.
The ACI Award for University Student Activities identifies the universities that qualify for excellent or outstanding status, based on points received for their participation in select ACI-related activities/programs.
Universities that have earned 12 or more points will be recognized with the Excellent University Award, whereas universities that earned 6 to 11 points will be recognized with the Outstanding University Award. Fifty-five universities received Excellent status, while fifty-one received Outstanding status.
The ACI University Award winners will receive recognition during ACI Awards Program Book and the Student Awards Program at the upcoming ACI Concrete Convention in San Francisco, CA, USA from April 2-6, 2023. In addition, each university will receive a digital and printed banner to display during campus events.
2022 marks the final year of the ACI Award for University Student Activities. The program will be relaunched as the ACI Student Chapter Awards Program and will be open exclusively to ACI’s 280+ student chapters around the world.
The revamped program will require student chapters to submit an annual report that will be evaluated by a Task Group who will determine which universities meet the minimum requirements to qualify for recognition in the program. Student Chapters that do not submit their report will be placed on probationary improvement plan. The goal of the new program is to help student leaders improve their chapter operations by providing them a system of record keeping that will aid in the on-boarding and orientation training for future leaders.
ACI currently has 15,000+ student members and welcomes an average of 500 students to the in-person and virtual conventions. Upcoming spring convention sessions for students include:
FRC Bowling Ball Competition
Student and Young Professional Networking Event
ACI Student Forum
Undergrad Research Session
ACI Committee 123 Concrete Poster Session
S805 Student Leadership Council Meeting
