On August 31, 2021, Andrew W. Taylor, chair of the ACI 318 Building Code committee, presented a session on sustainability, the ACI building code, and plans for the 2025 edition of the code at The Big 5 Online event.
As part of the session, Taylor shared highlights of the work currently underway to introduce principles of sustainable design into the ACI 318 Building Code, including the specific work of an ACI subcommittee working to publish a new appendix addressing sustainable design and construction of concrete structures in the 2025 edition of the code.
170 attendees joined for Taylor’s live 40-minute session. Anyone interested can watch the free on-demand recording of Taylor’s session by registering for The Big 5 Online event, running through November 17, 2021. The session qualifies for CPD points.

The Big 5 live in-person event will take place September 12-15, 2021, at the Dubai World Trade Center. As part of The Big 5 in-person event on September 12, attendees are invited to a free series of Concrete Talks powered by ACI on the topics of high-performance concrete, quality assurance/control for concrete work, new building regulations in the Emirate of Dubai, 3D concrete printing, and more. Registration for The Big 5 in-person event (including the Concrete Talks) is also free.
