ACI President Sharon Wood (left of center) in a sea of appreciative San Jose State Student Chapter Members The ACI Northern California & Western Nevada Chapter hosted a Student Night on March 8, 2016 for their student members at San Jose State University with special guest, ACI President Sharon Wood. President Wood spent time before dinner visiting with many of the 60 plus students who attended the meeting, prior to her presentation which focused on “Passive Sensors for Monitoring Concrete Structures,” describing her research into a low cost system with wide potential. Explore Free ACI Student Membership Northern California & Western Nevada Chapter sponsors two student chapters, San Jose State Chapter and California State University at Chico Student chapter. Both schools have very active and strong educational programs, San Jose in engineering and Chico State in Concrete Industry Management (CIM). The local chapter provides underwriting for special events such as the Concrete Canoe and ACI student competitions. Throughout the year, qualifying students can attend dinner meetings for $10.
