Abstract:
Rectangular coupled shearwalls can be analyzed with a computer program. This program, written in BASIC language, is based on the continuous connection system and evaluates bending stresses, shear forces in link members, and maximum deflections at the top of the system. The results of this analysis are presented for three loading cases: uniformly distributed, triangularly distributed, and point loads at the top.
