Abstract:
Architectural trestment of tilt-up panels dates from the early 1900s, but it has been within the past 25 years that the practice has become widespread. These treatments include sand- and waterblasting with or without the use of face-down retarders, insetting decorative rocks, and the use of reveal strips, stucco, and paint. The popularity of and variety in tilt-up construction indicate that it is a cost-effective method and need not yield "plain Jane" results.
