Abstract:
Concrete curing practices have changed through the years and, in many cases, the shift has been from water-adding to water-retaining techniques. Some exposed concretes, placed over 50 years ago, have performed well although they do not contain entrained air. Thus, curing plays an important role, and its testing methods are a major factor in obtaining quality control. Several conclusions about testing are presented; some possible new methods that might be worth pursuing are also suggested.
