Abstract:
Discusses a graphical method for predicting evaporation rate as presented in the ACI Standard Practice and how to reduce the potential for plastic shrinkage cracks in concrete. Several examples are presented and those measures necessary to minimize evaporation rate are presented. In addition, the mechanism of evaporation is illustrated.
