Abstract:
Quality control and acceptance inspection/testing by an independent materials engineering laboratory is a part of the owner/architect/engineer team effort. This service will help insure that the owner is getting what he is paying for and that the project is built in accordance with the specifications and drawings. qualifications of an engineering laboratory are important in that they tell the client and the associate professionals the services they are receiving are in compliance with ASTM, ACI, AISC, AWS, NVlAp,j NBS, etc. The inspection program as described in the specifications, the actual inspection and testing, the reporting for the quality of materials and of workmanship represent the contribution made by the independent engineering materials laboratory to the overall success of the project.
