M. Davis remarks introduced a session on mass concrete at the 34th annual convention in Chicago, 1938. He reviews briefly progress in the field of mass concrete from 1930 to 1938, indicates the efforts of Committee 108, and suggests that much remains to be learned about mass concrete action.
