Abstract:
About 8000 precast, prestressed concrete units, includ- ing columns, brackets, beams, and floor slabs, were used in this protect. Several intricate floor slab shapes were required, containing ventilation holes. The project cov- ered an area of about 980 x 1075 ft. Connections between all units, including columns, were made by bonding reinforcing bars into grouted cavities; welded connections were not permitted because of high voltage lines carried on the column brackets.
