Abstract: Objectives of this investigation were to determine the behavior of the folded plate structure as a simple beam with an irregular cross section and to verify the ultimate moment capacity by the rectangular stress block method. For this type of structure the ultimate collapse load agreed with the theoretical load within 1.8 percent.
