Abstract:
This report discusses the purpose of steam curing and suggests that it is an economic expedient to facilitate form removal and early handling and use of the concrete product. It summarizes current knowledge of the effect of steam curing on the physical properties of concrete and describes the effect of each portion of the curing cycle. The effects various componenets of the concrete. I.e. portland cement, aggregate, water, and admixtures are described. Recommended steam curing procedures for concrete block, on concrete pipe, and structural elements are recorded Equipment requirements are briefly summarized.
