Abstract:
A three span curved prestressed concrete box section bridge was field tested and compared with the results from model investigations. In general the predicted and observed; responses were in agreement. Discrepencies between the observed and predicted results were due to the model not adequately reproducing the actual boundary conditions. In particular the sliding plate type simple supports induced relatively large moments into the bridge.
