Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to study the mechanical behavior of typical planar joints, similar to those used in segmented tunnels, by means of experimental tests performed in scaled down models. In addition, a theoretical moment–rotation relation that represents the mechanical behavior of joints between segments of tunnels is proposed. The proposed curve consists of an initial linear part and a plastic branch.
