Abstract:
As a large number of countries in America, Europe and Asia; Colombia is located in a place highly vulnerable to earthquakes. It is therefore imperative that today's construction of buildings and civil works can be adapted and adjusted to cope with earthquakes, minimize disasters that they cause. Also, must avoid the designing and building the design without seismic knowledge. This publication was made looking for solve the need raised, providing tools for engineers and architects to know a practical way the basic concepts of earthquake engineering and structural dynamics and thus understand more clearly the behavior of concrete structures facing to earthquakes.
