Abstract:
This Briefing looks at how concrete slab-on-ground (SOG) construction provides a range of unique benefits notwithstanding the ability to reduce reliance on artificial heating and cooling through concrete's unique thermal mass. Also it addresses how SOG contributes to the sustainability principle of dematerialisation, by doing more with less, in that it does not require flooring coverings to create a functional and highly aesthetic outcome.
