Abstract:
This paper presents the results of some tests on the development of compressive strength of concrete with age and on the effect of condition of storage on the compressive strength. The results show little increase in strength in the air-stored speciments after an early age and a marked increase in strength in the specimens stored under moist conditions up to an age of three years and little change in strength between 3 and 5 years. A decided increase in compressive strength was also found when specimens which had been stored in air for 2 years and 7 years were transferred to moist storage conditions.
