Abstract:
The new stadium of the University of Pennsylvania is located at Franklin Field, which is part of the university grounds. On the west end of the field there is a gymnasium, a beautiful and efficient building designed by Day & Klauder in 1903-and at the time the gymnasium wsa built, wood stands were constructed on the north, east and west sides of the field, and these, with certain temporary stands, has a seating capacity of about 30,000. These stands enclosed a quarter-mile track, a 220-yd. straighaway, baseball diamond and the football field.
