Abstract:
Date palm trees are everywhere in Egypt-15 million of them. They constitute the main agricultural crop in Sinai and the western desert oases. More than 390,000 tons of palm tree fronds (PTF) are available annually from purning these palm trees. This huge quantitiy of renewable natural resource can be utilized in the construction of 1 and 2 storey houses for farmers or bungalows for tourist villages on the beach.
