Abstract:
Retireing ACI President Goldbeck discusses the early days of the Institute and the wide range of subjects covered by papers published in the Proceedings over the years. Standards and special publications are enumerated and the great amount of volenter effort making them possible is noted. Conventions and regional meetings are seen as oppurtunities for personal contacts as well as sourced of more formal information. Membership trends and prospects for the future are mentioned.
