Abstract:
Brief review in developments in linear prestressed concrete in the United States since the First U.S. Conference on Prestressed Concrete. Though European construction and achievements in prestressing continue to lead those in this counrty, there are now about 100 known projects in the United States incorporating linear prestressed concrete construction, either completed or under construction - about a ten-fold increase in one year. Whle foreign-developed prestressing systems have been widely used, there has also been widespread application of methods developed in this country.
