Abstract:
Production, properties, and applications of perlite insulating concrete are described including miming and manufacture of perlite aggregate, variation in different perlite deposits, basic cost data, physical properties of perlite concrete, and significance of aggregate hardness. The basic "1:6 mix" for perlite insulating concrete and job reccomendations for this mix covering roof decks and roof fills are detailed. Examples of use of perlite in insulating roof decks and roof fills and other applications are included.
