Abstract:
A practical model analysis procedure for determining elastic moments, shear, torsions, and deflections in any plate structure under transverse loads is presented. This method, known as "photo reflective stress analysis" or the "Presan method", is described in some detail. A specific analysis and reinforcing steel design of a continious square bay flat plate supported by columns of finite diameter is presented and compared to mathematical analysis of the same structure using ACI Building Code moment coefficient (Mo) and standard elastic analysis and design procedures.
