Abstract:
Fatigue tests were run on concrete beams and the data were analyzed in an attempt to determine the relationship for concrete between stress S, number of cycles to failure N, and probability of failure P. It was found that this relationship can be expressed reasonably well graphically; one of the mathe-matical relationships investigated fitted the data at high stress levels fairly well, but the fit at the lowest stress level was poor. The extreme value functions investigated could not be used to describe the relationship.
