Abstract:
An improved ablity to predict ultimate strengths for reinforcing concrete brackets has been obtained by limiting the use of shear-friction theory to cases in which a shear failure is assured, and at the same time including an apparent cohesion in the basic shear-friction equation. The theory has been sucessfully used to predict the strength of 40 test specimens.
