Abstract:
An investigation is presented for prestressed concrete beams with sharply varying depth at the support poitns, so called dapped ends. The critical state of stress is evaluated at a point close to and near the dap-root assuming shear cracking being a stress problem. Tests were carried out on eight prototype T-beams. The experimental results gave an evaluation of the different methods of web reinforcement.
