Abstract:
An investigation was undertaken of the tubular action in medium-rise frame-tube structures. For this purpose, a model was made of a 20-story frame-tube prototype, with dimensions situating it between the limit of a "short" and a "long" beam. The model was investigated by computer analysis and laboratory tests under static and dynamic foads. The behavior of the model under lateral loads and torsion moments is discussed in connection with the suitability of using various methods of analysis reported in the literature.
