Abstract:
Slag and fly ash are increasingly being used in concrete mixtures as cement replacement to reduce the use of clinker and consequently decreasing CO2 emissions. However, these by-products are generated simultaneously with the production of steel and electricity and therefore should be regarded as bearing CO2 derived from the energy necessary for their production.
