Description:
The 1st ICISR will be hosted by Université Laval in Québec City, Canada. This conference will highlight the latest scientific and technical developments related to Iron Sulfide Reactions (ISR) and their physical/structural consequences in concrete, as well as provide an unforgettable experience in the amazing historic city of Québec in Eastern Canada. The main program of the conference will include scientific/technical plenary sessions (oral presentations) and a discussion activity on key topics such as ISR mechanisms, identification, quality-control and standards development related to sulfide-bearing aggregates, etc. Additional activities will be proposed to participants who might be interested in a field visit (pre-conference tour; full day) to the Trois-Rivières region to visit a sulfide-bearing aggregate quarrying operation, an outdoor exposure site for ISR, and damaged structures affected by ISR. A post-conference visit (half-day) to the Université Laval laboratories will also be organized to discuss ongoing research on ISR.
