Student Competitions
  
 ACI's nationally recognized student competitions, offered in cooperation with the ACI Student Activities Committee, give students the opportunity to participate in interesting and educational concrete projects. 
  
   
 
Important Announcements
  Undergrad students are invited to submit abstracts for a chance to present their research at the Spring 2026 ACI Concrete Convention in Rosemont/Chicago, IL, USA. 
  The ACI Student Chapter Awards program was launched in 2023 and is open only to universities with an active ACI Student Chapter. Applicants are required to submit an Annual Report to meet the minimums points required to achieve Outstanding Student Chapter status. The student chapter with the highest level of points will be designated as the Distinguished Student Chapter of the Year. 
  The objective of this competition is to design, construct, and test a concrete structure reinforced with fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement to achieve the lowest cost-load ratio.
  Get a glimpse into the lives of young professionals living and working in the concrete industry. 
 Open Competitions
  Applications are invited for the 2025 ACI-James Instruments Student Award for Research on NDT of Concrete for original research on nondestructive testing of concrete. The award is sponsored by James Instruments, Inc., a Chicago-based manufacturer, and distributor of NDT systems, and it will be given by ACI Committee 228, Nondestructive Testing. Papers must be submitted to Dirk Heidbrink by December 1, 2025 for a chance to win cash prize of $1,500.
