Student Competitions

ACI's nationally recognized student competitions, offered in cooperation with the ACI Student Activities Committee, give students the opportunity to participate in interesting and educational concrete projects.


Important Announcements

Virtual Undergrad Research Session

Undergraduate students are invited to submit an abstract describing their concrete related research. Research should be primarily conducted by undergraduate students, with virtual presentations made by undergraduate students. Graduate students who conduct research as an undergraduate are also welcome to submit an abstract. Presentations on concrete materials, structural design, construction, or other applications of concrete are welcome to abstract submission.

ACI Engineering Greatness Podcast

Hosted by the American Concrete Institute, each episode brings together pairs of young professionals in the concrete industry engaging for intimate conversations about their life and work. Get a glimpse into the fields of civil engineering and construction management and what it takes to have a successful career in the concrete industry. Learn More.

ACI Virtual Student Forum

The ACI Student Forum provided an opportunity for student chapters and competition teams to exchange ideas and best practices. Student speakers delivered presentations about their university activities and achievements. This session is free to view and open to all students.

Open Competitions

Egg Protection Device

Design and build the highest-impact load-resistant ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) egg protection device (EPD). Learn about and report on the sustainability, durability, impact resistance, and other benefits of UHPC. Awards and overall results will be announced during the Student Awards at the ACI Concrete Convention in Baltimore, MD, USA, on Monday, October 27, 2025.
