Design of Slabs-on-ground

Q. I am looking for a guide to design slabs-on-ground for a building, which ACI document should I use?

A. According to section 1.4.8 of ACI 318-19, if the slab-on-ground being designed transmits vertical loads or lateral forces from other portions of the structure (ex: columns, walls, etc…) to the soil, then design the slab per ACI 318-19. Otherwise, design the slab using ACI 360R-10 “Guide to Design of Slabs-on-Ground”.
