Learning Objectives
1) Describe the nature of blast loads on a building and how the effects of the shock wave is transmitted to the building.
2) Recognize how different concrete structural elements perceive these loads and how they are converted to loads that can be used for the analysis and design of structural elements.
3) Discuss the different analysis and design options available to the engineer starting from the basic Single Degree of Freedom (SDOF) analysis to advanced Finite Element Analysis options.
4) Briefly explain some of the design criteria such as the Level of Protections and the conditions associated with different LOPs.
