Description

Webinar recording from October 1, 2013. Evaluating tolerance compatibility between concrete construction and other building elements is difficult due to the variety of materials, products, and elements that interface with concrete construction. Failure to accommodate these different tolerances can have a significant impact on quality, cost, and schedule. During this webinar, the presenter will discuss how the architect and engineer can use recommendations developed by ACI Committee 117, Tolerances, to accommodate individual material, product, and element tolerances at their interface with concrete construction during the design phase. When tolerance issues are not addressed during the design phase, contractors can use these recommendations to mitigate tolerance conflicts during the construction phase. Recommendations for mitigating tolerance conflicts related to several commonly encountered tolerance conflicts will be presented.
