Description

The use of FRP as reinforcement for Concrete Structures has been growing rapidly. This report summarizes the state of knowledge on these materials. In addition to the material properties of the constituents, i.e. resins and fibers, design philosophies for reinforced and prestressed elements are discussed. When the available data warrants, flexure, shear and bond behavior, and serviceability of the members has been examined. Strengthening of existing structures with FRPs and field applications of these materials are also presented.
