Abstract:
This paper reviews the design and construction of circular precast prestressed concrete tanks for water and wastewater storage and treatment. The tanks are prestressed by wire wrapping. The precast concrete tank walls incorporate a steel diaphragm for added quality assurance. A clear span precast concrete ’ shell roof completes the structure. The article covers foundation conditions, floor construction, precast wa construction, precast dome roof construction, and prestressing. The advantages of these construction techniques are summarized and include the speed of construction, efficient use of materials, performance of tanks with diaphragms, and the quality control in-herent in precasting [Author]
