Abstract:
Engineers who feel that the ACI Building Code (ACI 318 77) is an exercise in puzzles, games, math, and logic can benefit from this article by utilizing ways of simplifying the code. Computations of concrete shear, stress, column design, torsion, etc., can be solved with common sense The author has developed a time and money saving approach to the use of the code. Construction economies are also suggested.
