Abstract:
The design and construction of the 1444 ft long, cantilevered bridge over the Shubenacadie River in Scotia had to take into consideration a violent rive cakes, cold weather construction, and high-strength forcement of the cast-in-place concrete. The author covers in detail the various methods and techniques used during the design and construction stages of this bridge which took 4 years to complete.
