Abstract:
Sixty-four small concrete blocks containing steel wires and deformed bars as reinforcing were loaded as beams to produce cracks normal to the direction of the steel. After IO years outside exposure, the steel specimens were removed from the concrete andexamined for the amount of corrosion. Corrosion was found for short distances in the region of the cracks but was too minor in degree to be considered of serious consequence.
