Abstract:
Reports Iowa Highway Commission practices over 20 years, in the design and control of paving concrete: ( I ) The design of proportions to make the most eco- nomical use of the aggregates available, particularly mixtures containing a high ratio of mortar to coarse aggregate, (2) the introduction of the practice of weighing aggregates for paving concrete, (3) improve- ments in methods for the control of thickness of pave- ment slab, (4) design of equipment for accurate con- trol of measurement of mixing water, (5) detailed methods for control of proportions.
