Abstract:Reference is made here to a special, separate ACI publication, whose content is only briefly indicated as follows (a l32-page book): One of the important objectives of the committee has been to prepare tables covering as large a range of unit stresses as may be met in general practice. A second and equally important aim has been to reduce the design of members under combined bend- ing and axial load to the same simple form as is used in the solution of common flexural problems.
