Abstract:
Tests were made to determine III the relative ef- . ficiency of a number of curing materials, and (2) to develop a standard testing procedure for use in speci-fications. The curing materials included. in addition to burlap, calcium chloride; sodium silicate; six waterproof papers; an asphalt emulsion; an asphalt cutback; a straw-colored lacquer-like liquid; and a rubber (latex) emulsion. Tests indicated that the effectiveness of such materials as waterproof paper and liquid curing materials applied with a spray is materially increased when preceded by a 24-hr application of wet burlap.
