Title: Shearing Deformation IN continuous Beams And Rigid Frames
Author(s): A. Floris
Publication: Journal Proceedings
Appears on pages(s): 165-192
Abstract:Deformation methods used in analysis of continuous beams and rigid frames do not consider the influence of shearing forces. Ordinarily this influence is negligible. However, cases may arise in practice where the deformation due to the shearing forces cannot be neglected. A means of including shearing force influence in the slope-deflection and moment distribution methods is outlined. Equations are developed, and extensive examples of analysis both with and without shearing effect are furnished.
