Abstract:
An investigation of the sound absorbing values of concretes of different composition and physical properties. The results show that porous materials asorb sound, but dense materials with small porosity are not efficient in absorbing sound. Haydite and cinder concrete construction possess effective sound absorbng values; sand were not so good gravel and limestone concretes more sound absorbent than the usual hard plasters and cements.
