Title: Supervision And Inspection Of Concrete
Author(s): Burton Cohen
Publication: Journal Proceedings
Appears on pages(s): 40-45
Abstract:Structural engineering is divided into three major branches - research, design, and construction. Inspection of concrete construction has not kept pace with research and design. A review of concrete research work since 1900 reveals extraordinary values, which have not been interpreted nor correlated to construction methods. Qualifications of an inspector indicate preference to technically trained men and effectiveness is dependent on a substantial knowledge of research and design.
