Abstract:
Presentation is made of the interrelation between the strength, permeability, durability, fire resistance, and volume changes of concrete. By means of the constant water content theory a study is made of the relation between the strength of the concrete and the economy of plain and reinforced concrete members. The influence of quality of cement, gradation of aggregate, and prices of cement and aggregate on the economy of the concrete is included in the study.
