Abstract:Thirty-four different mixes, each with four different water contents, were used as batches for absorption, compression, and permeabilit was repeated five times and a b specimens. The series out 2000 cylinders were tested. Permeability was determined by measuring the water forced into the concrete under 40 and 100 psi pressure. Results indicated: (I) a 2 to 4 in. slump range for minimum permeability, (2) a decrease in permeability with increase in strength and cement-voids ratio, (3) no improvement with age after curing ceases and (4) no correlation between permeability and absorption,
