Title: Design of Reinforced Concrete Columns Subject to Flexure
Author(s): Hardy Cross
Publication: Journal Proceedings
Appears on pages(s): 157-169
Abstract:A study of the problem of the design of the columns in continuous frames of concrete. It is pointed out that increase in strength does not proportionally decrease flexural stress in such columns. The effect of proportions of the section and of the elastic modulus are discussed. A valuable discussion of the relation of strength and modulus appears in the discussion.
